SULU, Philippines – Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) Acting Chairman Ustadz Abdulkarim Tan Misuari, together with Mayor Abdulbakil Jikiri, Member of Parliament (MP) Romeo Sema, MP NurRedha Misuari, and MP Saripuddin Jikiri, convened a series of consultative meetings in Sulu with ground commanders and senior MNLF leaders to address pressing matters affecting the Bangsamoro struggle and regional peace.
The discussions centered on three key areas:
1. Updates on the attendance of the MNLF Delegation at the 51st Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers held in Istanbul, Türkiye;
2. The current status of the ongoing Tripartite Peace Process among the MNLF, the Government of the Republic of the Philippines (GRP), and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC); and
3. Recent developments and implications of the Sulu Exit from the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
Also highlighted during the visit was the peaceful settlement of a nearly decade-long conflict between communities in the municipality of Indanan. This reconciliation initiative—spearheaded by Acting Chairman Misuari—reaffirms the MNLF’s enduring role as a champion of peace and unity in the Bangsamoro homeland.

He reminded all present of the MNLF’s historic role in uniting the Bangsamoro people across tribal, linguistic, cultural, and regional differences.
