Istanbul, Turkey – June 24, 2025 — A high-level meeting between the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) and the Turkish Maarif Foundation (TMF) was held at the TMF Headquarters in Istanbul, marking a significant step toward strengthening educational ties between the the Bangsa Moro communities and Turkey.

The MNLF delegation, led by Vice Chairman  Ustadz Abdulkarim T. Misuari, was warmly received by Prof. Dr. Ahmet Emre Bilgili, Deputy Chairman of the Turkish Maarif Foundation, along with TMF’s top management and regional directors. The atmosphere was one of mutual respect and optimism as both parties discussed avenues for collaboration in the field of education.

The Turkish Maarif Foundation, established in 2016, is Turkey’s premier public educational foundation authorized to open and operate educational institutions abroad. TMF aims to share Turkey’s educational expertise and achievements globally, spanning from preschool to higher education.

During the meeting, Ustadz Abdulkarim Misuari expressed the MNLF delegation’s deepest gratitude for the recognition and hospitality extended by their Turkish hosts. “We are truly honored by the warm welcome and are inspired by the Turkish Maarif Foundation’s commitment to high-quality education. We look forward to exploring meaningful cooperation that will benefit our communities,” Misuari stated. Both sides acknowledged the importance of education in fostering peace, development, and mutual understanding.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to further exploration and concrete steps toward cooperation. Both parties expressed optimism that this partnership would open new opportunities for students and educators alike.
