Manila, Philippines – The Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF), under the leadership of Chairman Nur P. Misuari, will participate in the 51st Session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM), set to take place in Istanbul, Türkiye on June 21-22, 2025. This high-level international meeting will be chaired by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and is expected to gather foreign ministers and senior officials from across the Islamic world to discuss pressing global and regional issues.
Chairman Misuari and the MNLF delegation will continue to represent the legitimate aspirations of the Bangsamoro people within the OIC framework, promoting peace, development, and autonomy for the Muslim population in the Southern Philippines. The MNLF’s longstanding relationship with the OIC remains pivotal, as the organization has played a significant role in facilitating peace negotiations and supporting the Bangsamoro cause over the past decades.
The participation of the MNLF in the upcoming CFM session demonstrates the continued recognition and relevance of the Front in international diplomatic circles, particularly within the Muslim world. It also affirms Türkiye’s supportive role in fostering dialogue and unity among OIC member states, especially those addressing internal struggles for autonomy and self-determination. This marks the fourth time Türkiye will host the OIC CFM, having previously done so in 1976, 1991, and 2004.
The MNLF extends its gratitude to the Republic of Türkiye and the OIC Secretariat for the continued opportunity to engage in constructive dialogue and reaffirm its commitment to peaceful resolutions. The MNLF looks forward to contributing to discussions on regional stability, humanitarian concerns, and the broader Muslim ummah’s future in the 51st OIC CFM session.
